BOTOX APPLICATION
Botox is a medicine which is created by purifying a bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum in a laboratory. Botox treatment which is known as Botulinum toxin which is a treatment that prevents muscle activity in the application area by micro-injection method, used not only in aesthetics but also in many other medical fields.
Botox helps remove the patient’s thin wrinkles that occur as a result of facial expressions and aging, cease sweating and migraine temporarily for four to six months by preventing muscle motion in the eye area (laugh line) and the smoker/barcode line area.
What Does Botox Treat?
Treatment of thin wrinkles on face and neck areas,
Migraine and neurologic therapies,
Hyperhidrosis (over-sweating) therapy,
Teeth grinding/clenching therapy.
Effects of Botox
Post-application, Botox starts to show its effect in three to seven days. Its effect lasts for four to six months depending on the patient. Consecutive Botox applications can prolong its permanence.
Temporary swelling, purpleness and rarely eyelid drop may occur in the application area. Botox does not have a significant side effect on our health when applied by experienced specialists. Otherwise, the expected results may not be achieved, and unwanted complications may occur.
Who Cannot Receive Botox Treatment?
Since it is not entirely known if Botox has a side-effect during pregnancy and nursing it is not recommended during these periods.
Post-Botox Considerations:
Thermals, sauna and hot water exposure should be avoided.
Heavy sport activities should be avoided.
The patient should not lay on his back or side, should sit at a vertical angle.
Excessive usage of alcohol should be avoided.
Massage or make up to the Botox-applied areas should be avoided.
Any laser application should be postponed for a day.
Botox does not affect one’s social life and is such a quick treatment that can be performed during a lunch break.
